Windows 10 PPPoE Connection  

Windows 10 PPPoE setup 1:

Setting up a PPPoE connection when your computer is connected directly to your modem with an Ethernet cable.

Note: if you are using a router, follow the instructions that came with that router to set up your connection. Look for the keywords 'Dynamic', 'PPPoE' or 'this connection requires a username and password'.


Click on the Start icon
 




From the menu displayed, select the Control Panel icon: 
 


 


In the Control Panel, select Network & Internet:




 
Select Network and Sharing Center:


 
 
Choose Set up a new connection or network
 


 

Select Connect to the Internet:


 
 
Click on Broadband (PPPoE)

 

 

 
Enter your DSLExtreme username and password in the fields provided. Important: Make sure you enter your complete username with the '@dslextreme.com' suffex as shown below. For example, if your username is '8885551212', enter '[email protected]'. Type your password carefully. Use the 'Show characters' option to ensure that you entered the password correctly.

If you have multiple user accounts set up on your device, check the 'Allow other people to use this connection' for most situations.
Once done, click Connect




After a few moments, the connection should complete.
