Android Email Setup  

To set up a DSL Extreme email account on Android:


Tap Settings > Accounts > Add account




Tap > Email (or Mail on some Android handsets).



Type your DSLExtreme username (IE: [email protected]) and password.

If you wish this to be your default account, check the ‘send email from this account by default’ checkbox.

Tap ‘Next’




For Android 8 Oreo or above, your phone should set itself up automatically. For older versions, continue on to the steps below.

In the ‘Add account’ screen, select ‘IMAP account’.





On the Incoming server settings screen, make sure you enter your full email address in the ‘Email address’ and ‘Username’ fields IE: [email protected]

Password: Enter your DSLExtreme password

The IMAP server. Change from the default server to: mail.dslextreme.com




Tap on the ‘Security type’ dropdown and select ‘SSL’



Ensure that ‘Port’ is set to 993

Tap ‘Next’.


Your phone will confirm access using these settings.
 




On the Outgoing server settings screen:

SMTP server: smtp.dslextreme.com

Security type: SSL





Port: 465

Username: Your DSLExtreme username. IE: [email protected]

Password: Your DSLExtreme password.

Tap ‘Next’





On the ‘Account options’ screen, you should usually leave everything at default. Adjust settings to your preference.

When done, tap ‘Next’
 




On the 'Set up account' screen, enter a description for this email account in the ‘Give this account a name’ field.

Enter the name that you would like displayed in the ‘Your name’ field.

Tap ‘Done’ to complete the setup.
