This knowledge base article will inform you on how to setup Outlook Express as your default news client.
 
1. First you will need to open up outlook express. After you have Outlook Express open select tools>accounts.
 

 
2. Next click on add>news.
 

 
3. Outlook well then ask you for your name. You may input any name you like. This will be the name that displays when you post messages. After you have entered a name click next.
 

 
4. Next Outlook Express will ask for your email address. Type in your email address @dslextreme.com into the blank field and click next.
 

 
5. Outlook Express will now ask you for your NNTP server. In the NNTP server field enter in news.dslextreme.com. Make sure that you check the box that says, "My news server requires me to log on". When you are done with this click next.
 

 
6. Now you will have to enter in your username and password. Your username is your complete email address, [email protected]. Your password is the same password you selected when you created your email account. After you have entered your username and password click next.
 
7. You will see a prompt informing you that you have successfully configured Outlook Express. Click finish and you are done!
