"Operation Timed Out Waiting for a Response" Error Message When You Receive an E-mail Message SYMPTOMS When you receive an e-mail message, the following error message may appear: The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server 0x8004210A CAUSE This behavior can occur if Outlook Express has been removed from the computer or if the installation of Outlook Express is damaged.
RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior, remove and then reinstall Outlook Express, and then restart the computer.
