Adding Additional E-mail Accounts and Identities to Outlook Express
To add additional E-mail accounts:
First you will need to setup the email account with our system.
1. Visit https://secure.dslextreme.com/custinfo/login.asp and log in with your username/password.
2. Click on the additional username box in the upper right hand side of the page to setup more email addresses
3. You can add E-mail accounts by click on the line labeled "Add New"
Next, you will need to set up your Outlook Express:
If you want more than one email address on one computer:
You will probably want to set up a new Identity for this email, so the messages to the new email address don't get mixed up with your other email addresses.
1. Open Outlook Express.
2. Click on File>Identities>Add New Identity
3. In the "Enter your name" box, enter the label you want for this Identity. It can be anything you want. Click <OK>
4. A box will open asking if you want to switch to your new identity now. Click <YES>
5. Enter your name as you would like it to be displayed when people receive E-mail from you. (Ex. John Doe) --> click <NEXT>
6. Enter <Your New Email Address>@dslextreme.com as email address. Click <NEXT>
7. Select My incoming mail server is a POP 3 server.
8. Enter mail.dslextreme.com as your Incoming mail server
9. Enter smtp.dslextreme.com as your Outgoing mail server
10. Enter the username and password you selected for this email address. Click <NEXT>
11. Click <Finish>
12. To check for new mail click <Send/Recv >
To switch between Identities:
1. Go to File>Switch Identities...
2. Click on the Identity you would like to use.
3. Click <OK>
Not sure what Identity you are on?
The identity name you are currently under is displayed in the upper right corner of Outlook Express!
If you are setting up the new email address on another computer:
1. Click on Start> Programs> Outlook Express
2. If this is the first time you have run this program go to step 5.
3. Click on Tools> Accounts
4. Click on Add> Mail
5. Enter your name as you would like it to be displayed when people receive E-mail from you. Click <NEXT>
6. Enter <Your New Email Address>@dslextreme.com as email address. Click <NEXT>
7. Select My incoming mail server is a POP 3 server.
8. Enter mail.dslextreme.com as your Incoming mail server
9. Enter smtp.dslextreme.com as your Outgoing mail server
10. Enter the username and password you selected for this email address. Click <NEXT>
11. Click <Finish>
12. To check for new mail click Send/Recv
