Setting up POP Email in Outlook 2007  

First you will need to update your DSL Extreme account to allow POP Access:

Launch Outlook 2007.
Click Tools and then click Account Settings



On the E-mail tab, click "New".



Check the "Manually configure server settings..." box.



Select "Internet E-mail" and click "Next"



"Your Name" - Enter your name.

"E-mail Address" - Enter your email address. IE: [email protected]

"Account Type" - Select "POP3"

"Incoming Server" - Enter: mail.dslextreme.com
"Outgoing Server" - Enter smtp.dslextreme.com

"Username" -  Enter your full email address. IE: [email protected]
"Password" - Enter your email password.

Check the "Remember Password" box.

Click the "More Settings" Button



Click the "Outgoing Server" tab.

Check the "My Outgoing server requires authentication" Box

Select "Log on using".

"Username" - Enter your email address. IE: [email protected]
"Password" - Enter your email password.

Check "Remember Password"

Click the "Advanced" tab.


Under "Server Port Number" please set:

Set the "Incomming Server (POP3)" to "995".
Check the "This sever requires SSL" box.
Set the "Outgoing server" to  "465".
For "Use the following type of connection" choose "SSL".
Set the "Server timeouts" slider all the way to the right or "Long (10 Minutes)".

Click OK.


Click "Next".
Click "Finish".
