Phone Codes These are short numbers you can dial to connect you directly with local information and services.
• 0: Operator assistance isn't available at this time. • 211: 2-1-1 is a free phone number and online database that connects Californians quickly and effectively to existing health and human service programs, joblessness support and disaster response information in their communities. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and in 150 different languages. It's currently only available in the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Ventura. Star Codes Dial these codes BEFORE dialing a telephone number to enable or disable certain phone features
• *67: Caller-ID blocking. Dial this code before your outbound call to disable caller ID for the next call. Please note that there will not be a dial tone after dialing *67; simply continue dialing. • *69: Last Call Return. Will immediately dial back the last inbound caller if possible. • *72: Call-Forwarding. Dial this code to enable to update your Call-Forwarding. • *73: Disable Call-Forwarding. • *77: Enable Anonymous call rejection. Blocks incoming calls from parties that have blocked their caller-id information • *82: Disable Caller-ID Blocking. Will unblock outbound Caller-ID on your next call if it is blocked by default. Please note that there will not be a dial tone after dialing *82; simply continue dialing. • *88: Disable Anonymous call rejection. • *99: Access voicemail from your phone. • *272: Turns on a high-pitched (1004 Hz) tone on your line. • *273: Plays recorded message of your caller-ID information.
Features Not Supported
• "10-10-321"-style toll dial-around is not supported. • Collect calls (aka "charge reversal") are not supported. As an alternative to collect calling, we recommend using a pre-paid phone card. • 976 or 900 toll calling is not supported.
