NETGEAR PPPoE Configuration

1. The first step to setting up your NETGEAR router is to physically connect it. Connect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the Internet port of the router. Then connect an Ethernet cable from the computer to any numbered port on the back of the router.
 2. Now open your web browser and type the following IP address into the address bar, 192.168.0.1, and then click go. If you get a page cannot be displayed error then proceed to the "I cannot connect to my router" knowledge base article.

3. You will be prompted for a username and password. Enter admin as the username and admin as the password and then click ok. If you are unable to log into your router refer to the, I can't log into my router knowledge base article.

4. The NETGEAR configuration page will now display. If you have chosen this knowledge base article you have a dynamic IP and are configuring the router for PPPoE authentication. Place the dot in the radio that states that your connection requires a log in. A username and password field will then appear. Type in your [email protected] in the username field and type in the password in the password field. Select use these DNS servers and use the following servers: 66.51.205.100, 66.51.206.100. After you have entered all pertinent information click on the save changes button at the bottom of the screen.

Congratulations, you have successfully configured your NETGEAR router for PPPoE authentication. From this point on, the router will do the entire authentication for you. When you want to go on the internet simply click on your web browser.
